About Us

The Coventry Nine Pin Skittle League currently has 31 teams, spread across 3 divisions, playing from September through to June each year. Usually each team will play once a week and games are played Monday to Friday, they start at 20:15 and should be finished by 22:15.

We currently have somewhere in the region of 400 active players registered in the league, this is made up of male and female bowlers as well as juniors and seniors with ages ranging between 9 and 85. We are always looking to welcome new players and teams into the league, and with so many existing players of varying ages and abilities it really is a game for everyone. Skittles is looked at by many as a game for older players only, or a game that is easy to play and requires little skill, however neither are true. The game has progressed massively in recent years seeing many changes to the way we play. An example of this would be the set up at our current venue, The Highway Club, which has 5 lanes, all of which have a dedicated camera and LCD TV so that the games can be viewed easily around the room.

Skittles is both social and friendly, yet competitive and always with a great atmosphere. It continues to be a cheap game to play with Match Fees in the region of £2.50 per game plus the annual Registration Fee of £12 for adults, £6 for seniors and £2.50 for juniors. All of the equipment required is provided by the league and will be available on match nights.

If you are interested and would like to find out more you can contact us either by phone or email. The league secretary, Paul Davies, can be reached on 024 7641 0282 or alternatively you can send an email to info@coventryskittles.co.uk.

We also have a portable alley that was constructed in order to be taken into local schools to try and introduce the game there, as well as holding Open Evenings to showcase the game. The lane is also available to hire for functions where only one lane is required and can be used in a smaller rooms.
